JC Daniels School invites all new and current families to attend our Dual Language 101 Lunch & Learn session on Monday, April 11 from 12:00-1:00pm.  A light lunch will be served while we present and discuss how our Dual Language philosophy of instruction impacts all curriculum areas.  Please come with plenty of questions.

John Daniels School is organizing a fundraising event to support relief efforts in Japan.  We will donate all proceeds to Save the Children in support of their work with children and families after the earthquake and tsunami in northern Japan. 

JCD Parent, Silvana Apicella, is a certified Zumba instructor will lead us in some heart-pumping fun in the auditorium on Thursday, April 14th. 

Anyone who would like to participate should bring a $1 donation.  PreK-grade 3 will dance from 10-10:30.  4th-8th grades will dance from 10:35-11. 

We invite the JCD and New Haven communities to join us for a night of Jazz Under the Stars.  The Yale Jazz Ensamble will play, featuring vocalist Stasha Rosen.  The concert will benefit the JCD instrumental music program and will provide new instruments for JCD band students.

We have been enjoying meeting with families who were recently accepted through the magnet lottery.  We look forward to seeing each of our new students in their new classrooms in September. 

In the meantime, we will be having several events for new families.  Please plan to attend our Welcome Dinner on Monday, April 4 at 6pm.  Our Title I parent liason will be here to do science experiments with parents and children, JCD staff will be present to talk with you, and current parents are also invited to attend.  We hope that you will begin to feel like part of the JCD community.
