John C. Daniels

JCD Parent Silvana Apicella is a licensed Zumba instructor and will be teaching a free Zumba Class on Wednesdays from 6-7pm in the JCD Auditorium.  Classes begin March 23, 2011.

Today, the Magnet Lottery was held in the NHPS board of education conference room.  If you applied to JCD, you should receive a letter within the next week or two informing you of your acceptance or wait-list status.  Please read that letter carefully when it arrives, as there may be further action required in order for you to accept the placement and register your child. 

If your child was accepted, please keep a close eye on our website for announcements that may pertain to newly accepted families, such as our Welcome Dinner on April 4. 

If your child's name was placed on Daniels' waiting list, there is potential that you could receive a spot at Daniels until as late as October, 2011.

The ActivBus is an RV remodelled as a model ActivClassroom with Promethean boards, voting systems, document cameras and more.  Teachers will receive training in the Bus, and parents are invited to see a demonstration of the exciting technology we have in all our K-8 classrooms. 

Presentations will be every half hour in the JCD parking lot from 9:30am-12:30pm.

Parents, please remember that tomorrow, March 4th at 1pm is our CMT pep rally--Sundaes for Success!  We hope to motivate our 3rd-8th graders to do their best as they begin the Connecticut Mastery Test on Monday, March 7th.  Younger students will participate by cheering on the older students.  Parents, as always, are welcome and encouraged to attend.

At this time, we will also be celebrating our Magnet Schools of America, School of Excellence award.
